Convert LP to CD
Transfer any vinyl record to CD
Do not waste your precious music or voice. If you have vinyl records (or 78 rpm records) you may need our professional service. You may have a lot of reason to transfer your records to CD, such as not having a proper record player to play them or having a life of ease. My father in law has got a precious collection of records but he does not like to trifle with the turntable...
What recordings can we convert?
- Vinyl records
- Shellac records
- Records of any speed (16, 33.3, 45 and 78 rpm)
- Records of any size (5", 7", 10", 12", postcard records, x-ray film records)
Can I convert vinyl records to CD by myself?
To record LP to CD seems to be very simple. Anybody can buy a USB turntable and connect it to a computer. But the quality... If quality doesn't matter to you, do it yourself.
What is the quality of your service?
That is the most important question. Using cheap equipment, such as "USB turntable" or the internal soundcard of a computer will produce low quality. You may find some low price transfer service on the Internet. Would you like to pay for a CD, which contains not intelligible, noisy and unenjoyable recordings?
First of all, we are professionals in music and audio. We use only high-quality equipment and software to convert your recordings. However, the quality is essentially limited by the original recording. We may say, that the output is never worse but more enjoyable than the input. We aim to achieve the best possible quality from your favourite recordings. We do our best to clean up clicks, crackles and hiss (no guarantees however, that we will be able to get them all cleaned up.) The audibility of voice recordings can also be dramatically increased.
The standard transfer procedure involves the followings:
- Every record is inspected carefully. If the record is damaged in a way to prevent playback, we can't do the conversion.
- The record is cleaned with a professional record-cleaning machine.
- The LP is played only once during the conversion.
- Recordings are imported to a computer using digital conversion. All processing is performed with 24-bit 96KHz precision using dedicated software programs produced for CD mastering.
- Pops and clicks are removed (at least partially) by a dedicated software.
- Sound restoration is applied if requested by the customer. At this point, background noises such as crackles, ticks, pops and electrical hum can be reduced or removed.
- Track markers (according to the visible tracks of the record) are added.
- You may choose the output format. The finished product is then burned onto a Compact Disc or DVD for worry-free listening and archival.
- The CD is labeled or engraved using Lightscribe technology to display the title and tracks.
- A full colour image of the album cover is printed for the jewel case if requested by the customer. Where available, a list of titles is scanned in from the album jacket. A spine label with the title of the album is added to the jewel case.
- Final testing to ensure a proper transfer and restoration.
